We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in our community and promote sustainability. Keep Terrebonne Beautiful is proud to host an event in celebration of America Recycles Day® (ARD), a nationally recognized initiative by Keep America Beautiful.

• Location: Terrebonne Folklife Culture Center, 317 Goode St, Houma, LA

America Recycles Day® is the one day of the year dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of recycling and taking action to improve our environment. At Keep Terrebonne Beautiful’s America Recycles Day event, you can actively contribute to these efforts in several meaningful ways:

1. Electronic Recycling Drive:

Have old computers, laptops, gaming consoles, or other electronics you no longer need? Bring them to our event, and we’ll ensure they are properly recycled through our partnership with the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to reducing electronic waste and providing refurbished computers and equipment to schools, nonprofits, and low-income families.

2. Secure Shredding & Recycling:

Concerned about sensitive documents cluttering your home or office? Bring your banking, legal, and other important papers to our Secure Shredding & Recycling station. Watch as your documents are securely shredded while you wait, ensuring your confidential information remains private.

3. Clothing Drive for Colonel Closet:

Support the Colonel Closet initiative, a project created by the Department of Student Affairs at Nicholls State University. This initiative helps students in need by providing them with essential clothing items. By donating gently used clothing, you’re making a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by circumstances beyond their control.

4. Mardi Gras Beads and Aluminum Can Collection:

Don’t let those Mardi Gras beads and aluminum cans go to waste. Drop them off at our collection point to promote recycling and reduce unnecessary waste.
