Keep Terrebonne Beautiful is teaming up with Keep America Beautiful’s RETREET® program and The Home Depot Foundation to plant 200 trees in Terrebonne Parish — at no cost to you.
If you live, work, or serve within our project boundaries, you may be eligible to receive free native, non-invasive trees for your home, organization, or neighborhood.
What is RETREET®?
RETREET® is a national program of Keep America Beautiful that helps communities restore tree canopies after disasters by replanting trees lost to storms, floods, and other natural events. Across North America, RETREET has provided thousands of trees to help neighborhoods recover, rebuild, and grow greener together.
About the Terrebonne Parish Project
Through this partnership, we will:
- Plant 200 trees in Terrebonne Parish
- Provide trees free of charge
- Focus planting in designated project boundaries
- Work with local volunteers and community partners to get trees in the ground
This project is made possible by the RETREET program of Keep America Beautiful and The Home Depot Foundation.
Who Can Request a Free Tree?
Trees are available to:
- Homeowners
- Neighborhood groups / HOAs
- Nonprofits
- Schools & churches
- Local businesses
- Community organizations
To qualify, the planting location must be within the RETREET project boundaries.

- Confirm your address is within the project boundary.
- Fill out the tree request form.
- Our team will review requests and follow up with next steps.
Want to Volunteer?
Planting day takes a community! We need volunteers to help plant trees alongside RETREET and Team Depot (The Home Depot volunteer team). Participation is free, but registration is required.

What Kind of Trees Will Be Planted?
We will be planting large native, non-invasive trees selected to thrive in Terrebonne Parish.
Tree size and species list will be shared with approved applicants prior to planting.

How much does it cost?
Nothing — trees and planting are provided free through RETREET and The Home Depot Foundation.
How many trees can I request?
Most residential properties may qualify for up to two trees (final number depends on space and safety considerations).
Do I need to be home on planting day?
We’ll provide details after approval. Some sites may need an on-site contact.
What if I rent my home?
Renters should apply with written permission from the property owner.
What if I’m outside the boundary area?
This pilot is limited to the project boundary. If you’re outside, we’ll keep your info for future tree programs.
